Poet. Artist. Collaborator.

Artist statement

As a poet, I draw from personal narrative and create in a confessional style that leaves little space between myself and the words. I have been described as "the poet who's not afraid to feel.”

My work presents poetry as visual art in various media including cut vinyl, interactive projection, immersive mixed media, and large-format carved paper. Pieces tend toward experimentation and collaboration, both with other artists, and with the viewer. I regularly explore the concepts of suffering, the human condition, connection, and reconciliation.

The outcomes I desire are intimate and experiential: helping viewers to receive and interact with the under-experienced and often misunderstood art form that is poetry, and pushing the boundaries of language and presentation in a way that creates connections between the viewer and the world, and between the viewer and themself.
